Downpipe: cosa è e come funziona

Il downpipe è un componente presente nelle auto con motore turbo, è tubo lungo tra i 40 e 60 cm che collega la turbina all'impianto di scarico. Il suo scopo principale è quello di migliorare la fluidità del flusso d'aria attraverso il sistema di scarico, riducendo la resistenza dell'aria e aumentando la potenza del motore. Il downpipe è generalmente realizzato in acciaio inossidabile di alta qualità, che offre una maggiore resistenza alla corrosione e alla ruggine rispetto ad altri materiali. Il downpipe è tra i dispositivi più utilizzati nel tuning delle auto con motore turbo. 
I downpipe racing consentono ai conducenti di sfruttare al meglio le loro auto, migliorando la potenza, dando alla tua auto modificata maggiore spinta nella guida.
