Technical Data

As part of our expanding Fiat 500 product range, AIRTEC Motorsport is proud to launch our intercooler upgrade to offer increased performance through reduced charge temperatures in comparison to the original intercooler. This is particularly important to remapped examples.

Our solution to replacing and improving the OEM hugely restrictive twin intercooler setup and lengthy pipework within the confines behind the bumper assembly is based upon a high flow, single-pass core design, that’s wider, taller and deeper than the originals. This offers a massive increase in frontal area and a huge increase in capacity, which allows it to make the most of the air flow provided. The pipework is also much shorter, which improves the spool time for the turbo and increases throttle response.

Despite this improvement, the kit fits neatly behind the original bumper, requires no trimming or cutting, and can be reverted back to standard with no issues. The comprehensive fitting kit includes all the correct fixtures and fittings.

The intercooler is available in a Pro-Series Black finish (with or without the AIRTEC logo).

DYNO TESTED
Tested at AmD Tuning rolling road with a Fiat 500 Abarth automatic

Standard intercooler:
Run 1: 75 degree into the intercooler and 40 degree out of the intercooler
Run 2: 73 degree into the intercooler and 42 degree out of the intercooler

AIRTEC Motorsport intercooler:Run 1: 64 degree into the intercooler and 19 degree out of the intercooler
Run 2: 67 degree into the intercooler and 20 degree out of the intercooler
Run 3: 69 degree into the intercooler and 21 degree out of the intercooler
